ST GEORGE’S, February 9, 2017 – The organisers of the inaugural Grenada Invitational on Thursday revealed that tickets in the Main Pavilion of the National Athletic Stadium are almost sold out.
Ticket agents have reported that only few tickets on the Finish Line and the VIP section are available in the Main Pavilion.
However, there are tickets available for the Secondary Pavilion and the Bleachers (www.grenadainvitational.com/tickets)
Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Grenada Invitational, Dexter Mitchell is not surprised about the sale of tickets after only one week.
Mitchell, in a previous interview, warned that some patrons may find it difficult to obtain tickets if wait until the meet scheduled for April 8.
“Once again, we are admonishing persons to please purchase tickets if you want to be witness to this historic Athletic Meet,” he said.
“We would also like to offer a hearty thank you to all who have supported the Grenada Invitational to date and we look forward to an awesome display of athletic prowess, national pride and tremendous excitement on Saturday April 8.”
The inaugural Grenada Invitational will be held at the recently opened National Athletic Stadium, which will be renamed in honour of Olympic Gold and Silver medallist Kirani James during the meet.
The organisers have already announced an array of regional and international track and field stars including Asafa Powell and Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica; Americans LaShawn Merritt, Justin Gatlin, Brianna Rollins and David Oliver, and Kim Collins of St Kitts and Nevis, to name a few.
